English-speaking doctors in Chania Crete
German and English-speaking doctors who have completed their medical education in Germany are practicing on Crete. In the beginning of 2013 a German specialist team assumed responsibility for the medical and scientific management at the Private Hospital Tsepeti in Chania.
Brief curriculum vitae of Stefan Haak Born and raised in Kiel in northern Germany he then moved to Berlin in 1988 to study medicine. He graduated at the Free University of Berlin, University Hospital Rudolf Virchow, University Hospital Benjamin Franklin and Charité, Medical Faculty of the Humboldt University.
At the beginning of his medical profession he was employed at the Trauma Surgery Department at Hospital Neukölln, Berlin. From 2000 he was employed at the Hospital Ludwigsfelde in Brandenburg, later on, in 2004, he attended the academic teaching hospital of the Charité for further education to become a consultant surgeon with certification. He received a trauma surgeon’s certificate in 2009.
The spectrum of his medical training and work mainly comprised of the field of orthopedics and traumatology which enclosed both the surgical treatment of all injuries of the extremities, small and large joints, as well as the injuries of the abdomen and spine including pediatric traumatology. In the orthopedic field he attended numerous arthroscopic surgeries of the knee, shoulder and wrist, but also arthroplasty and spine surgery was carried out. Surgical procedures of the hand and foot were also part of the spectrum of his professional career at the hospital. During and after specialist training, there was also an opportunity of gaining extensive experience in the areas of vascular and visceral surgery, the latter mainly with laparoscopic techniques. During his employment since 2002 he has accomplished numerous call-outs for an emergency doctor in the local EMS (emergency medical service) acquiring the corresponding qualification as an emergency physician.
In 2012 Stefan Haak moved to Chania Crete in order to work together with his colleague Giorgos Tsiledakis at surgical center.net, the Clinic for Surgery, Orthopedics and Traumatology. Since early 2013 Stefan Haak has been Head of the Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology at the private Hospital Tsepeti in Chania Crete.
Brief curriculum vitae of Giorgos Tsiledakis Giorgos Tsiledakis was born and raised in Chania Crete. He then moved to Berlin Germany to study medicine and graduated at the Free University of Berlin, University Hospital Rudolf Virchow and the Charité, Medical Faculty of the Humboldt University.
During his education as a surgeon in Germany he worked as a scientific and medical researcher both in the field of general and vascular surgery as well as in the field of traumatology and was trained in minimally invasive endoscopic and laparoscopic as well as microsurgical techniques.
He operated as a surgeon in the departments of general surgery and trauma surgery as well as in the interdisciplinary ICU (intensive care unit) of the Hospital Ludwigsfelde near Berlin. At the same time he worked as an emergency doctor at the local EMS (emergency medical service).
In 2012 he moved to Chania Crete in order to work together with his colleague Stefan Haak at surgical center.net, the Clinic for Surgery, Orthopedics and Traumatology. Since the beginning of 2013 Giorgos Tsiledakis has been head of the Department of Surgery at the private Hospital Tsepeti in Chania Crete.
